Bambu Lab P1S Combo — image 1

Why we chose this

Consumer 3D printing used to be a hobby in itself — calibration, mods, tuning — before you could print anything useful. Bambu changed that. The P1S Combo is the price point where 'just works' becomes affordable, and it's the printer we'd recommend to anyone who's never owned one and probably to anyone who has.

The review

Bambu Lab single-handedly dragged consumer 3D printing into the 'it just works' era, and the P1S Combo is the package that delivers on that promise without the X1 Carbon's price tag. The enclosed chamber finally makes ABS and ASA printing reliable without a custom enclosure, the AMS multi-material unit lets you print four colors in a single job, and the auto-bed-leveling, flow calibration, and resonance compensation all happen in the first ninety seconds of every print without user input. Print speeds are absurd by old standards (500mm/s with proper materials), and the cloud-connected slicer accepts MakerWorld designs that print verified on this exact machine. We've put 400 hours on ours and had two failed prints, both my fault. For people who want to make things rather than tune printers, this is the answer.
