This week's picks
Displays and audio did the heavy lifting. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is the first ultrawide OLED we'd actually keep in a sunlit room, and the Sonos Era 300 made us stop rolling our eyes at spatial audio. The Sony WH-1000XM6 is, predictably, still the one to beat for noise cancelling — Sony keeps sharpening the same knife, and it keeps cutting. Health and home got weirder in a good way. The Withings Body Scan put a six-lead ECG in a bathroom scale, which should not work and somehow does. The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the first robot vacuum we've stopped babysitting. The Whoop 5.0 earned its subscription by actually changing how our tester trained this month. And the Steam Deck OLED remains the quiet benchmark. Every handheld announced since has been measured against it, usually unfavorably.
What's coming up
Big week for infrastructure. The Aqara Hub M3 is our smart-home review on Monday — Matter-over-Thread that finally feels less like a science fair. Power users get a double feature: the Anker Solix C1000 (1000Wh, under an hour to recharge) and the Anker Prime 27,650mAh, which we're calling the last power bank most people need to buy. Later in the week, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2 goes head-to-head with the XM6 we just praised, the Apple Vision Pro (M5) gets a second look now that it's actually comfortable, and the Bambu Lab P1S Combo makes the case that 3D printing is finally a hobby, not a project.
On sale right now
A rare one: the Aqara Hub M3 is already down to 129 USD before we've even published the review. If you're convinced, buy early. Power week continues on the deals page. The Anker Solix C1000 is 799 USD (down from 899), and the Anker Prime 27,650mAh is 179 USD. For bigger ambitions, the Goal Zero Yeti Tank Expansion Battery is 20% off at 399 USD. Spending-money territory: the LG OLED M5 wireless OLED is 4499 USD, and the Apple Vision Pro (M5) is 2999 USD. Not cheap. Cheaper.
